Service-Learning Methodology in Higher Education: Systemic Review

Abstract

The Learning - Service Methodology (SL) is presented as an innovative proposal of interest for an adequate training in values and citizenship training. Objective. This research shows us a systematic review of the Service Learning methodology at the higher university level. Materials and methods. It is a systemic review, with an initial sample of 191 articles and after a filtering based on the inclusion criteria, 18 articles were obtained from works published in the last 5 years in journals indexed in the databases. Results. The results show the service-learning methodology and the competence approach are presented as an opportunity for the training and development of man as a social and transcendental being that contributes to our society. Conclusion. The ApSmethodology is a fundamental tool in higher level pedagogy, which deserves to be consolidated and institutionalized
in Latin America.
