Abstract
Humanity is going through an
unprecedented crisis as a result of the
coronavirus
disease,
the
socioeconomic impact and the need to
contribute to its monitoring, in order to
provide a scientific explanation, is
evident. The objective is to analyze the
delinquency rate of loans in Ecuadorian
banks in the context of the health crisis.
The research is quantitative longitudinal
with a descriptive and documentary
scope, analyzing data from the
Superintendency of Banks of Ecuador.
The results clarify the effect that the
pandemic is having on the payment
capacity of Ecuadorian banking
debtors, revealing that the real estate
loan segment is the one that has been
most affected.
