Citizen Security: a systematic review

Abstract

This article shows a systematic review
on citizen security. In a meticulous way,
various scenarios are analyzed where
policies, considerations, strategies are
applied, scenarios where citizen
security is affected and how it has been
developing in different contexts in Latin
America. Scientific elaborations were
examined in the period from 2017 to
2021. This research is based on the
methodology of Okoli and Schabram
(2010) and Kitchenham (2004). The
reviewed studies contribute empirical
and theoretical information on citizen
security policies. The results show that
the policies, programs and plans
applied to citizen security in Latin
America are not enough to achieve a
significant percentage of reduction in
violence and crime.
